Seven Network to broadcast racing every weekend until 2027
The Seven Network has secured a landmark broadcasting rights deal which will see Australian horse racing on its screens every Saturday until 2027.
While the free-to-air channel regularly broadcasts major race days, today’s announcement will see live and free racing throughout the 52 weeks of the year.
“The agreement to 2027 firmly cements Seven as Australia’s Home of Racing, and means Australians will enjoy 52 weeks of elite racing across the nation,” the network said.
The network will host racing in New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland and South Australia, with the following race meetings set to be highlighted:
- NSW – All Group 1 races and every feature race, headlined by the Golden Slipper Stakes, The Championships, The Everest and The Golden Eagle.
- Victoria – Melbourne’s Caulfield Cup, Cox Plate, Caulfield Guineas and All-Star Mile race days.
- Queensland – Both the Summer and Winter carnivals, featuring the Stradbroke Handicap, Queensland Derby and Queensland Oaks.
- South Australia – Adelaide May Carnival, highlighted by the Goodwood Handicap, South Australian Derby and Australasian Oaks.
While Channel Seven will have racing on every Saturday, Channel 10 holds the broadcasting rights to the Melbourne Cup Carnival, including Derby Day, Melbourne Cup Day, Oaks Day and Stakes Day racing.
A massive weekend of racing is upon us once again, with four Group 1 races set to be run and won at Royal Randwick and Flemington, and HorseBetting will have daily betting tips for meetings and feature races all over the country.
