Look out Melbourne Cup, there’s a new race in November that is set to take the shine away from Victoria.
Its name is the Golden Eagle and it is worth a cool $7.5 million.
Ran on the same day as Victoria Derby Day, the race was implemented to keep colts in work heading into their four-year-old campaigns.
The inaugural running of the Golden Eagle will be raced on November 2, 2019.
