Toowoomba racing preview
Seven twilight races will be run and won at Toowoomba from 4:56pm AEST on Saturday night. The track is rated a Good 4, and the rail is out +2.5m for the entirety of the course.
Donald Baker saddles up Mr Brose in what looks on paper a fairly plain Class 1. The three-year-old broke his maiden at Roma three weeks ago and then backed up seven days later here where he ran second by 1.5 lengths to Little Miss Pixie. While he is a maiden at Toowoomba, a win is coming given he’s run second three times from four goes around the course. He’ll get the sit on them from barrier six under Gary Geran and should be too good for them.

Formerly with Tony Gollan, handy five-year-old mare Trail Of Glory joined the Lindsay Hatch yard back in October and has been racing in a rich vein of form since, with a win and a placing from three starts at Clifford Park. Wendy Peel will ride the Rothesay mare for the first time, which will be handy given her 3kg claim. While this one hasn’t won in five attempts over 1300m, she was a narrow runner-up at the journey last time out, so we believe she can go one better. She’ll get a nice run from barrier six and should prove hard to beat.

Lindsay Hatch’s horses jump out of the ground on their home track, and we expect Dunners to be no different. He’s had just the three starts for one win at Kilcoy over 1200m, but has certainly held his own in some tougher races. Up to 1300m looks to suit the Love Conquers All gelding, who will likely settle in the first five or six from barrier 10. He can bounce back.
