Saturday racing tips for Toowoomba
Eight races will be run and won at Toowoomba this Saturday evening in the track’s weekly twilight meeting. The surface is rated a Good 4, while the rail is out +3m from the 800m-600m and +5m for the remainder. Race 1 jumps at 5:11pm local time.
Ian Cook sends north his handy galloper Rexx to compete in a very winnable race. The son of I Am Invincible has been racing well of late in country New South Wales, winning an open handicap at Armidale two starts ago. From barrier two, Jodi Worley will take the lead aboard the five-year-old and should prove too hard to catch. The good surface is a big advantage for Rexx too. He can get followers off to a flyer.

Mbappe makes his Queensland debut on Saturday for Kris Lees. While he has only one win to his name from 11 starts, he’s been doing his best racing this time in and looks well placed here over 1650m at Class 1 level. Skye Bogenhuber takes the ride and will look to get back and run on from barrier six. The mile should suit.

Toowoomba locals Michael Nolan and Skye Bogenhuber combine with the consistent mare Miss Cavallo. After finishing midfield at Group 2 level at the end of her last campaign, she returned in solid fashion when third at Ipswich behind subsequent winner Hard Labour and Tracy May before failing as favourite here a fortnight ago. She now steps up to a much more suitable distance and is drawn middle of the pack in the small field, which will allow Bogenhuber to find a good spot and ride her like the best horse in the race. Her best will be too good.
