Toowoomba horse betting preview
Twilight racing at Toowoomba kicks off at 4:56pm local time this Saturday evening. Seven races will be run and won on a Good 4 track, while the rail will be out 4m for the entirety of the course. Let’s take a look at some of the best bets on the card.
Tony Gollan takes just the one runner up the mountain to Toowoomba on Saturday for what looks a hit-and-run mission. Skye Bogenhuber takes the ride aboard Steel Pier in this 1875m Benchmark 62 handicap. The son of Pierro will be fit enough for this third-up assignment after running second at the Gold Coast last time out. He stays at the 1800m and should get a decent enough run despite being drawn wide. He has also been accepted in a race at the Gold Coast on Saturday, but this looks easier.
Snow Valley comes off a midfield effort at Grafton at the end of last campaign behind Two Big Fari. She’s won twice when first up in the past and does her best racing on dry tracks. Now with a new trainer, she looks to be levels above some of her rivals as she comes back in class. Her last prep saw her around runners like Blazing Miss, Wandabaa and Segalas. She’s the one to beat here.
Kiki Coco ran a ripping third at Doomben last start when behind Scrooge and Shooting Roses, the latter of which came out at Ipswich midweek and bolted in to score comfortably. Robert Smith’s three-year-old filly hit the line nicely that day from the back, which suggests that the extra 250m will be ideal, while she should find a midfield spot from barrier eight. The daughter of Sepoy was a big drifter in betting, so hopefully we can get a price about her here.
