SATURDAY’S Group 2 Silver Slipper Stakes is set to be a one-act affair if the market is to be trusted after online bookmaker Sportsbet installed Tassort as the $1.60 favourite for the Rosehill feature.

The smooth moving Mclaren is on the second line of betting at the $5.50 while Born A Warrior ($8.50) and Faretti ($9) are the only other runners in single figures.

Tassort’s dominant debut win in the Golden Gift in November of last year is enough to suggest to Sportsbet that he’ll be winning again and booking a ballot exempt spot in the Group 1 Golden Slipper on March 23.

The son of Brazen Beau is a half brother to 2016 Silver Slipper winner and subsequent Golden Rose winner Astern and Group 1 Queen Of The Turf winner Alizee.

Australian Godolphin head trainer James Cummings said Tassort is moving nicely coming into just his second race start.

“He’s done well since his trial,” Cummings said.

“He just got out of it what he needed to. They ambled along nicely and I think he’s improved from it and he’ll run in the Silver Slipper and James McDonald will ride him there.”
