The Australian Turf Club’s Rosehill Gardens returns thus Saturday as the popular venue begins a six week stint of consecutive Saturday meetings and Spring racing.

Rosehill Gardens is ushering in spring with a special Eats at The Gardens food precinct, pop-up bars and live entertainment as part of a nine-race card on the track.

Racegoers are being encouraged to dress in the traditional black and white colours of Victoria Derby Day for one of Australian racing’s biggest days.

Rosehill reopens after a five week break from racing, which allowed staff to conduct a minor renovation ahead of the busy racing schedule.

Rosehill Gardens Track Manager Shaun Patterson said the course proper surface had thrived after decent rainfall combined with recent warmer weather.

“We have had 180 millimetres of rain since we last raced which has been perfect for the root growth and recovery of the track,” Mr Patterson said.

“We are sitting in the Good 4 range and even with this warmer weather we have only had to put two millimetres of irrigation on Tuesday.

“I’m confident we can stay in the Good 4 range for the start of Saturday.”
