PuntDrunk : Cracking Day Set For Australia Day Racing | Free Tips

Punt Drunk News – 26/1/21

G’day PuntDrunkers, there are only two days you can get away with cracking open a cold one before your first coffee, Christmas and Australia Day! What better way to spend the day than setting up the old stumps in the backyard and grabbing the bat that has more bangs in it than the local brothel house before turning the races on while listening to some good old Jimmy Barnes & Darryl Braithwaite.

We have Eight race meetings to watch go around today and Horsebetting has you covered for most of them plus all the top feature races for this cracking day.

Farnan: Farnin or Farout?

How do we approach the Gai Waterhouse colt? Let’s be honest he was built up like he was the best thing since sliced bread ahead of the start of his three-year-old season. When in fact he was as good as mouldy bread in his two runs when being beaten a combined 12 lengths in the Run To The Rose and then the Coolmore Stud Stakes. We like winners here at Punt Drunk, but we also do not like money munchers. Ol’ mate Adrian Bott has suggested he will resume in the Group 1 ‘The Galaxy’ in the middle of March, and boy we will be happy to let him go around without our hard earned on him. He will need to win again before we even entertain the thought of backing him.

The Harrovian is heading to Melbourne!!!

Has there been a more popular Queenslander since Buffering in racing terms? The Toby Edmonds trained The Harrovian is packing up his carrots and heading down south for a crack at some of the big events the Melbourne autumn carnival has to offer. He looks set to resume in the Futurity Stakes before lining up in the All Star Mile, where he sits fifth in the voting behind the likes of Behemoth and Arcadia Queen. Now, if our boy Kaonic doesn’t get into the field, it’s safe to say we will be on The Harrovian’s bandwagon! We can’t remember the previous installments being this exciting in the lead up and boy are we ready to see some of the biggest names go at it over the Moonee Valley mile!

A new stable for the Knight!

Do you remember the horse who produced one of the best wins of the spring in the Peter Cromley? Well having been under the watchful eye of Danny O’Brien, the son of Camelot is now off to the Symon Wilde stable. He is by no means a household name but following that win at Caulfield and then a fourth at his last in the Bendigo Cup there are bound to be a few nice races for him to contend throughout the autumn and then into the spring. He’s one we are certainly keeping an eye on.
