Murray Bridge Betting Preview – January 26, 2021
Murray Bridge hosts an eight race card for Australia Day racing in South Australia on Tuesday afternoon. With plenty of rain expected in the 24 hours leading up to the meeting we may see a track in the Soft region despite the track being rated a Good 4. It may pay dividends to see how the track plays over the first couple of races, and look to pounce on some value throughout the middle to late stages of the card.
The first at Murray Bridge is set to face the starter at 12:51pm ACDT.
Best Bet: Race 8 – Viduka #1
Ryan Belfour and Alana Livesey will be out to break a run of outs for the five-year-old gelding Viduka. He has five runner up performances in his eight runs this campaign and rarely gets much luck in the running. From barrier five we anticipate Viduka to go forward especially with Livesey’s 4kg claim and should go from barrier to box in the final leg of the quaddie. He had plenty of excuses at his last run over the 1200m here at Murray Bridge when trapped three wide with no cover. He took substantial ground off a handy winner in Second Slip who has since come out and won at Sandown, his form is clearly the strongest in the race and is a clear best bet on the Murray Bridge card.

Next Best: Race 6 – Good Girl Bella #9
Jeff Searle opted to send his five-year-old mare over to Stawell on January 8 to break a run out of outs, and she did it in fine style. She led all the way in a dominant three length victory that day and will look to bring that form back to South Australia with her first attempt over the Murray Bridge mile. In a race that will have plenty of heat early on, expect Sophie Logan to use barrier two to her advantage and take a sit just off the leaders heels. If she gets a gap at the top of the straight she should be too slick in the second leg of the quaddie.

Best Value: Race 5 – Fabulous Flipper #4
The opening leg of the Murray Bridge quaddie looks to have a couple of key chances, and we are happy to include the chances of Fabulous Flipper in that conversation. Two starts back her win over this track and distance was full of merit when getting no closer than four wide with cover and kept finding in the home straight to score narrowly. From barrier eight, Maggie Collett will look to get her over to the front of the field and if she does, she’s rock hard fit and absolutely eats up the Murray Bridge 1000m.
