Warwick Farm racing news

New South Wales metropolitan racing will be run at Warwick Farm this Wednesday with seven races to go around. The track is currently a very wet Heavy 9 and the rail goes out 5m from the 1000m to the winning post and just 3m for the remainder of the course. Race 1 is set to jump at 12:50pm AEST, with the final run scheduled for 4:20pm.

Wednesday racing tips for Warwick Farm

Best Bet
Race 2 – Beyliks @ $1.95

Godolphin’s Lonhro 2yo drops significantly in grade, back to a Colts & Geldings Maiden Plate after running fourth behind subsequent Group 1 JJ Atkins winner Rothfire at Eagle Farm three weeks ago. James McDonald hops on for the second time and looks to get all the favours from the inside alley. He maps to box seat behind Edmond and Pyrmont and be far too good. The colt has placed twice on a wet track and won a trial on soft ground last September. On class alone, Beyliks should win this with his ears pricked, head on his chest and one leg in the air.

Next Best
Race 4 – Lewis @ $3.80

Chris Waller and Nash Rawiller combine in Race 4 with the promising Lewis. Since we last saw him on the track back in March, the horse has had the ultimate gear change, which should help him settle better and improve his racing. First up at the mile in a race that lacks any speed, Rawiller should cruise over from gate five and control the race, making every post a winner. The Fastnet Rock gelding has won on a soft track before and the 1600m should be perfect first up as he looks to get out over a trip.

Best Value
Race 7 – Travest @ $6

Gregory Hickman and Tommy Berry combine in the last on Wednesday and no, it’s not Pierata. Debut winner Travest returns to the track for the first time since January 8, when he won coming from last to arrive just on time. That win came on a wet track, which he finds here, while he placed on a heavy track in a trial three weeks ago. Berry will get back from gate 12 and storm home out wide over the top of the leaders. There is plenty of speed engaged, which will suit him down to the ground. The 3yo will be one to follow going forward if he runs anywhere near as well as he did on debut.
