What Rosehill Races
Where Rosehill Turf Club – James Ruse Dr, Rosehill NSW 2142
When Saturday, March 27, 2021
First Race 12:30pm AEDT

A massive day of racing at Rosehill Gardens beckons this Saturday, with five Group 1 races including the richest two-year-old race in the world, the Golden Slipper. With torrential rain having battered the New South Wales coast, the track will be rated a Heavy 8 at best. The rail is out +3m for the entire circumference, and the first race is set to jump at 12:30pm. Horsebetting.com.au brings you their top four in every race on Golden Slipper Day, including best bet tips and value bets, suggested Quaddie numbers and full previews for all five Group 1 races.

Race 1 – IRRESISTIBLE POOLS & SPAS DARBY MUNRO STAKES (1200 METRES)

Next Best Bet of The Day
A field of 14 three-year-olds are set to go around in the opening race of the day and it is a cracking way to start. Queensland filly Isotope comes into this first-up after she fell in the in the 3YO Magic Millions Guineas, while Private Eye resumes and is shooting for six straight victories. Doubtland is undefeated on wet tracks and is undefeated when second-up, he gets James McDonald aboard and there is plenty of speed in the race to set it up for him to finish over the top. He gets all the boxes ticked here in what is an open race. At $8.50, Doubtland is bet every day of the week.

Selections: 2-4-5-6

Next BestRace 1 – Doubtland (#2) $8.30 with Sportsbet

Race 2 – XXXX N E MANION CUP (2400 METRES)

Best Bet Of The Day
It might be time to pack up and go home after the second race with pockets filled to brim and the Armaguard van escorting us out of TABs and racetracks across the country if we can get our two bests home early. Four-year-old Victorian mare Realm Of Flowers gets everything to suit in her second Sydney start and we are confident she will make the most of it. With three wins and three minor placings from nine wet track runs, the So You Think mare will relish the conditions. 2400m is a massive plus, and her midfield barrier (7) will see her slot in off the speed and be chiming in at the right time. With just 53kg, she has every right to be winning this. Her last start was huge where she flashed late behind Yonkers, and her second in the Sandown Cup in the Spring should have been her victory but she was luckless. Realm of Flowers should be paying around the $12 quote at the top AU bettings sites. Bet, bet, bet!
Selections: 14-7-8-10

Race 3 – ROADWORK SOLUTIONS EPONA STAKES (1900 METRES)

The third race of the day sees a number of stayers resuming, as well as some nice middle distance horses who have been up over the summer. We were with Attention Run this time seven days ago and we do think the Kris Lees-trained mare will run well given her first-up record and heavy track performances, but it is hard to go past Ice Bath should she start in the race. Brad Widdup’s mare has brilliant wet track form and comes off a two length defeat in the Group 1 Coolmore last time out. She has drawn barrier 16 and does not have a jockey locked in yet though.
Selections: 16-9-5-7

Race 4 – RANVET STAKES (2000 METRES)

This is going to be one of the races of the day. Verry Elleegant and Addeybb are set to do battle for the second time in their career, with the UK import out to maintain his unbeaten Australian record. We are with the seven time Group 1 winning mare Verry Elleegant to turn the tables this time. Drawn barrier one, she will play the stalking roll and can be the one charging through the line late now that she is third-up. Addeybb simply swims which will make him hard to run down. No bet in the race for us here punters, just sit back, grab the popcorn and get ready for a mouth-watering contest.
Selections: 6-1-7-2

Race 5 – SKY RACING ROSEHILL GUINEAS (2000 METRES)

Mo’unga was a good thing beaten in the Randwick Guineas a fortnight ago, when he flashed late to just miss Lion’s Roar. The Annabel Neasham-trained colt was great first-up in the CS Hayes behind Tagaloa and Aysar over 1400m and then returned to Sydney when second in the Randwick Guineas. He looks to have been crying out for 2000m his entire career and he finally gets his chance. The son of Savabeel has won on a Heavy track before, and he is bred to swim. One of the better bets of the day. Lion’s Roar is a deserved second favourite, New Zealand Derby runner-up Milford cannot be dismissed at $15, while The Elanora can improve up to 2000m.
Selections: 3-4-1-7

Race 6 – THE AGENCY GEORGE RYDER STAKES (1500 METRES)

It has been 77-weeks since ‘The Big A’ has won a race, but gee this looks Avilius’ race. After nearly getting the spoils first-up behind Verry Elleegant and Colette in the Chipping Norton Stakes and looks to get the conditions to suit on Saturday. Unbeaten on Heavy tracks, the James Cummings-trained seven-year-old will be in the ideal spot throughout from barrier six under Nash Rawiller and will make his presence felt late. Star Of The Seas also has great wet track form and comes through and ferociously run All Star Mile after winning the Blamey Stakes. Gem Song can frank the form out of the Newcastle Newmarket.
Selections: 2-5-6-12

Race 7 – LONGINES GOLDEN SLIPPER (1200 METRES)

Best Value Bet
The feature race of the afternoon is the Golden Slipper for the two-year-olds over 1200m. With a lot of these runners unexposed over 1200m and on wet tracks, we are able to speck a couple of horses in the hope to be profiting; pardon the pun. Profiteer looks the best horse in the race and has had a near-perfect campaign in preparation for this. His on-pace racing pattern will suit him down to the ground, and he has won on a Soft track over 1100m. He was a month between runs into the Todman and just got caught late, and is now three weeks between runs again which is a slight concern. Gerald Ryan’s Mallory has had a quiet, almost behind the scenes preparation, just going by her business quietly which has enhanced her price. She will get a great run and be right there at the finish.
Selections: 15-2-8-13

Best ValueRace 7 – MALLORY (#15) $34 with Sportsbet

Race 8 – BISLEY WORKWEAR GALAXY (1100 METRES)

The last Group 1 of the day is The Galaxy over 1100m and it is $5 the field. Untapped four-year-old mare Tailleur has had Group 1 winner written all over her since day dot, and she finally gets her chance on Saturday in this. With just 51kg on her back, a nice barrier (6) and better wet track form than most fish, she is in this up to her eyeballs. There has been plenty of money come for her since it was confirmed she would start here, and we are confident the money will be right come 5pm Saturday. Haut Brion Her has trialled well in preparation for this first-up assignment, while Wild Ruler will be there for a long way.
Selections: 12-4-13-1
[rmOC_events_list event_ids=1364419_08]

Race 9 – TAB BIRTHDAY CARD STAKES (1200 METRES)

Another tricky way to finish the day; just for something different. Written Beauty comes out of a brutally run Challenge Stakes where she put in her career worst run. Nature Strip and Eduardo paired off and nothing else made an impact on two sprinters who were in another postcode, breaking the Randwick 1000m track record, so we are happy to forgive the three-year-old filly. Drawn out in barrier 15 under Tommy Berry, she will cruise over and find the front and should be able to go on with the job. She has won on a Soft track and placed second on Heavy going when on debut at the Gold Coast behind The Drinks Cart. Wayupinthesky is another mare who goes well second-up and loves the mud, so she is the danger.
