Wednesday racing tips for Eagle Farm

Best BetRace 2 – Come In Spinner Get the best odds

This former New Zealand galloper is yet to win his maiden in 17 starts, but he won’t find a better race to break his duck. He has become a frustrating commodity for punters, placing in nine races and going down three times as favourite. It could be D-Day for the Jimmy Choux gelding on Wednesday, but we are trusting that Michael Cahill can go forward from barrier three and hold them out over the 1300m trip. Come
In Spinner heads into this off a very close second when fresh, so he should be better for the run.

Next BestRace 3 – Golden Mean Get the best odds

One horse who really knows how to win is Golden Mean for the David Vandyke stable. She is looking for her third win in a row and will get every chance from barrier one in this 1200m BM75. The five-year-old mare did enough to win at Doomben last start despite drifting from odds-on to as much as $6 just before jump. With Ryan Maloney in the saddle again, they should box seat and put this small but smart field to bed. She stays at the same weight and class here, although she does have to race the boys this time. Still, Golden Mean is in good form and remains unbeaten from four starts over 1200m, so she is the one we want to be on.

Best ValueRace 8 – Dr Why Not Get the best odds

Lindsay Gough’s four-year-old gelding looks to be perfectly placed in the final race on the program, where he will be suited by the potential leader track and the inside alley. Michael Murphy will stoke him up from the fence and have the lead all to himself. Dr Why Not hasn’t missed the quinella from two starts over 1200m, while he has won and placed in a further two runs from five career starts. At Class 1 level, he will be in this up to his ears and should run a bold race at double-figure odds.
