Eagle Farm will hold nine races on Saturday afternoon with the track rated a Good 4 and the rail out 2.5m throughout. The first race jumps at 11:28am AEST, while the last is scheduled for 4:28pm.

Race 1 – Dashing Special @ $3.30
We are confident we can get off to a flyer at Eagle Farm with Dashing Special. Brad Stewart takes the ride on the seven-year-old gelding and will press forward from the suitable barrier two, taking the lead in a race with no speed. He is on the seven-day backup, which will suit him as he had no luck last weekend over 2200m on a soft track when bumped upon straightening and left flat footed. Prior to that he hadn’t missed the placings since late April, so it’s all down to how quickly he can recover. Back on top of the ground here will do him the world of good. He should win this.
Race 5 – Mushaireb @ $2.90
Richard and Michael Freedman bring only the one runner north on Saturday, and we think Mushaireb can be a winner. The seven-year-old gelding hit the line very strongly at this track a fortnight ago when narrowly beaten by Prometheus, suggesting the rise to 1800m will suit. He is drawn well in barrier seven to settle on the leader’s back or in the one-one under in-form hoop Ryan Wiggins. Mushaireb’s form prior to coming to Queensland is far superior to his opposition here, having gone around in Listed races behind the likes of Mustajeer, Shared Ambition and Trumbull. He looks to be a solid win bet.
Race 9 – Defence Missile @ $12
It has been nearly six months since Defence Missile’s last win, but we think he finds himself in a suitable race on Saturday. There is a bucketload of speed engaged, which will suit the Love Conquers All gelding from barrier two. Jimmy Orman will settle midfield on the fence and look to angle out on the big straight to let his mount loose. He is a winner at The Farm and does his best racing when third up into a campaign, which he is here. With even luck in the running, he appears a fantastic each-way bet.
