CF Orr Stakes day betting tips & form for Saturday, February 10

IT is Group 1 CF Orr Stakes (1400m) on Saturday at Caulfield and we’re super excited.

The G1 feature is the obvious headline event, but there are eight other races on the card to look forward to, so let’s get stuck in.

Race 1 – Open Handicap (1800m)

Plot The Course has been making progression across its three runs this preparation and looks set to win if it continues on this path. The horse resumed with a sixth, then finished third before a last-start second on January 27. It bodes well for a quality run.

Race 1 tip: Plot The Course to win ($3.80 at Topbetta)

Race 2 – Blue Diamond Prelude F (1100m)

Oohood only finished a nose behind superstar of the future Long Leaf on debut and was unlucky in the next start at Caulfield, but still managed to finish within a length of Lady Horseowner on January 27. We think the penny drops on Saturday.

Race 2 tip: Oohood to win ($3.60 at William Hill)

Race 3 – Blue Diamond Prelude C&G (1100m)

[rmOC_events_list event_ids=1181345_03]

Ollivander was brilliant on debut back in December, but unfortunately confronted the red-hot Long Leaf in its very next start. The horse only finished beyond half a length beyond Long Leaf on that day, and had plenty of excuses. Back Ollivander in here.

Race 3 tip: Ollivander to win ($4.80 at Sportsbet)

Race 4 – Ladbrokes Ts Carlyon Cup (1600m)

[rmOC_events_list event_ids=1181345_04]

Gailo Chop is the best horse in the field here. The seven-year-old has a great record of two wins and three placings from seven starts, so it knows how to do it fresh. Gailo Chop is at a rock-bottom price and deservedly so.

Race 4 tip: Gailo Chop to win ($2.10 at William Hill)

Race 5 – Kevin Hayes Stakes (1200m)

[rmOC_events_list event_ids=1181345_05]

We absolutely love Shoals and we’re backing it in to making a winning resumption. The horse is undefeated over two first-up runs and we’re backing the Fastnet Rock filly to make it three from as many resuming attempts.

Race 5 tip: Shoals to win ($3.40 at Topbetta)

Race 6 – Rubiton Stakes (1100m)

[rmOC_events_list event_ids=1181345_06]

Merchant Navy is a quality runner that has the ability to win this race in a canter. The horse is a great runner fresh and is undefeated over two runs first-up. The horse’s only defeat came in the Golden Rose, just to highlight how good Merchant Navy is.

Race 6 tip: Merchant Navy to win ($3.20 at William Hill)

Race 7 – Hyland Colours Autumn Stakes (1400m)

[rmOC_events_list event_ids=1181345_07]

Two wins from two first-up efforts boosts our confidence that Levendi can resume in style here. The only concern here is two sixth placed finishes on a pair off attempts at Caulfield, but we cannot overlook the horse’s chances in this one.

Race 7 tip: Levendi to win ($5 at Ladbrokes)

Race 8 – CF Orr Stakes (1400m)

[rmOC_events_list event_ids=1181345_08]

Black Heart Bart knows a thing about winning at Caulfield and at 1400m. From six attempts the horse has won four times and placed a further two at course and distance. Bart also has a tremendous record of three wins and a trio of placings from nine first-up attempts. What more can you say?

Race 8 tip: Black Heart Bart to win ($3.40 at Crownbet)

Race 9 – Bellmaine Stakes (1200m)

[rmOC_events_list event_ids=1181345_09]

Fragonard is a first-up beast which will be incredibly hard to beat here. The Godolphin runner has never lost across three resuming runs and is also undefeated at the distance from a pair of starts. From an ideal barrier Fragonard can lead and take this out from the front carrying just 55kg.

Race 9 tip: Fragonard to win ($5 at Sportsbet)
