Winx has easy time in barrier trial

Winx has been given an easy time in an 850-metre barrier trial at Randwick, running fourth behind Ramornie Handicap winner Smart Volatility.

The champion mare cruised midfield in Friday’s heat and picked up to run through the finish line strongly under Hugh Bowman.

She is expected to have another barrier trial before her return in the Group Two Warwick Stakes on August 20.
