Race 1 – All Too Hard @ Vinery Plate (1200m)

Iowa is on debut for Chris Waller having finishing second in all three trials to date. The two-year-old by All American has been put through its paces in work and it looks ready to make a successful track debut. The in-form Tim Clark rides and it has drawn ideally in barrier three here. It should be well-favoured in the betting and look for some market support.

Dunatun hasn’t done much in three race day starts, but they came in tough grades and it won a recent trial at Hawkesbury. The Garry White-trained colt finished 10th in the Inglis Nursery on debut behind She Will Reign before running fourth on this track in a highly-regarded city race. It had no luck in the Inglis Classic last start after being caught wide and it will enjoy facing this class. Respect in an open field.

Race 1 tip: Iowa to win at CrownBet.com.au

Race 2 – Now You’re In The Game Maiden (1200m)

It’s only a matter of time before Star Of Monsoon gets a win and we’ll be backing it in until it does. The Gerald Ryan-trained colt has performed strongly against some of Australia’s best juveniles and it looked as though it was going to break maiden grade last start, but just ran out of time. There are some unknowns in this field, but on class alone it should have them covered and we’ll take anything $2 or above.

Tivoli Street looked good last campaign when placing at its last two starts and a nice resumption is likely here. The Waller-trained gelding finished third at Beaumont before running second last start on this track. It looks a type which will get better with more distance, but the 1200m should suit here and it will get every chance from the inside draw.

Race 2 tip: Star Of Monsoon to win at Ladbrokes.com.au

Race 3 – Hyland Race Colours Plate (1200m)

Bodhi Blue looks to have a good deal of talent and it will be better for the outing last start. The Gary Portelli-trained filly finished fifth on debut and was quickly spelled before resuming at Hawkesbury when it ran third. That came in only a five horse field, but it ran a quick 1000m time and that bodes well for this. It’s a good sign that Blake Shinn takes the ride and it should be paying good each way odds.

Another runner with its foot on the till is Palomino. The Darren Beadman-trained filly has finished runner-up at its last two starts and it took a smart one to beat it last start. The daughter of Exceed And Excel has form behind the likes of Scarlet Rain, Divine Prophet and Missrock last campaign and that stands alone in a race like this. Expect heavy betting support.

Race 3 tip: Palomino to win at Bet365.com

Race 4 – Tab Rewards Handicap (2200m)

Segenhoe has been in good form this campaign, which included a win at Gosford two back. The Richard Collett-trained gelding scored by 1.5 lengths in a benchmark rating 65 and it held its form well against the higher-classed horses last start when running second. The five-year-old gets a valuable 3kg claimer in the saddle, taking its weight down to 59kg, and it looms as a good winning chance.

His Kyllachy is an imported runner for Chris Waller which ran well when second last time out. The Waller-trained gelding ran over 3.5 lengths behind the winner, but the signs were encouraging and it will only improve with more racing under its belt in Australia. The inside draw is ideal and it should lob into a nice position and be tough to beat.

Race 4 tip: Segenhoe to win at WilliamHill.com.au

Race 5 – Schweppes Handicap (1600m)

Volpe has won its last two starts coming into this and despite the rise in grade, it drops significantly in weight. The Danny Williams-trained gelding scored an emphatic four-length win at Goulburn on its home track and staying at the mile will be ideal. It has faced city-graded horses when running fourth on this track in December, so it can handle it and it could run well with 53kg on its back.

Pelorus Jack has also produced wins at its last two starts and it has looked above average in doing so. The Les Bridge-trained gelding carried a big weight of 58.5kg to win at Warwick Farm last start, but it has been given 60.5kg for this which makes it tough. There’s no doubting the three-year-old is one of the most talented runners in the field, but it’s giving some nice horses a big head start.

Race 5 tip: Volpe to place at Sportsbet.com.au

Race 6 – Tab Now You’re In The Game Handicap (1100m)

Penske was a striking winner on debut at Hawkesbury when winning by three lengths. The Waterhouse/Bott-trained three-year-old ran as the $1.65 favourite when beating Dazzles by three lengths and a similar effort should be expected here. Drawing barrier 12 has made it awkward, but it has good gate speed and expect Tommy Berry to be positive from the outset.

Kalvena is a runner in form having won three of its six starts and placing in the other three. The David Pfieffer-trained gelding beaten My True Love at Gosford last start and that form has held up nicely. The son of Magic Albert will be forced to carry a big weight of 60.5kg with Tye Angland in the saddle, but it should be considered as an each way chance.

Race 6 tip: Penske to win at Ladbrokes.com.au

Race 7 – Theraces R72 Handicap (1300m)

Loveletter was a stylish winner when scoring on this track last start and it looks the type that will go on with it. The John Thompson-trained filly had shown good form behind the likes of Improvement, Slow Burn and Pelorus Jack, but capped that off with a narrow win. The daughter of Encosta de Lago drops back in distance which isn’t ideal, but it shouldn’t be far away.

Nonpareil has been a touch costly for punters, but it rarely puts in a bad effort. The Beadman-trained filly was a winner on a heavy track in April and has finished within 2.5 lengths of the winner in two subsequent starts. It ran well when running fourth last time at Warwick Farm and it only needs a touch of luck to show its best form in the big field.

Race 7 tip: Loveletter to win at Sportsbet.com.au
