Mornington Racecourse is located at 320 Racecourse Rd, Mornington VIC 3931. The track is approximately a one hour drive from Melbourne CBD and is a beautiful drive down the infamous Mornington Peninsula.
Getting to the track via public transport can be a bit difficult. However, from Frankston Train Station, you can catch bus #784 towards Osborne and a 35 minute travel by bus will get you to Satu Way/Mornington-Tyabb Rd, which is just a 600m walk to the main entrance of the race track.

The Mornington Racecourse has a circumference of 1800 metres and a short 210 metres home straight. The straight has a slight uphill rise but does not impact the runners greatly. It is one of the more unique shaped tracks in Australia, due to its figure 8 chase out circuit.
Mornington Cup
The Listed Mornington Cup is a race that is gaining traction as the years go on.
Worth $300,000, the winner of the Mornington Cup is ballot-exempt from the Group 1 Caulfield Cup in the spring.
Run and won over 2400m the handicap clash is open to all ages and has no other restrictions, the event attracting a quality line-up of stayers each season.
The Mornington Cup was previously run over 2000m but increased to a mile and a half in 2008, making it a potential lead-up to the longer distance staying races in Sydney in the autumn and Brisbane in the winter.
Mornington Cup Day is held on the same date as Tancred Stakes Day at Rosehill Gardens in Sydney.
