Stampede was one of the best-backed runners of the day at Doomben and duly saluted for punters after jumping out to an early lead and pushing through to the post to return $2.30 to WilliamHill.com.au clients.

It was an almost carbon-copy run from Stampede to its terrific Wagga Cup win, establishing a big lead early in the straight before powering strongly to hold out fast-finishing rivals.
Mick Price runner The Chairman was brave in defeat to deliver $1.70 to Sportsbet.com.au investors while Chocante fought on well but never troubled the winner to return $2.30 at Crownbet.com.au.
It was the third stakes win for Stampede in its short racing career, which has now won five times from nine starts.
