Srikandi to join Ktichwin broodmare band

Dual Group One winner Srikandi has been retired to the broodmare barn and will be served by Snitzel this season.

The six-year-old had not raced since her midfield finish in the Darley Classic last spring after which she was found to have a stress fracture.

Srikandi was trained by Ciaron Maher to win the 2015 Stradbroke Handicap-Tatt’s Tiara double.

She also finished third in the 2014 Stradbroke and second in last year’s Manikato Stakes won by champion sprinter Chautauqua.

She will join the broodmare band at Kitchwin Hills in the NSW Hunter Valley.
