Race 1 – Funland Australia Handicap (1100m)

Junglized has the benefit of race-day experience when winning at Muswellbrook on debut by 5.5 lengths. The son of Snitzel ran a quick last 600m and it should be able to make the transition up in grade. Chance on the second line of betting at $4.60.

Veranillo is on debut for John O’Shea and Godolphin debutantes are running very well at the moment. The Medaglia D’oro colt won a trial in preparation for this and the stable has found a nice debut target for it. Well placed from barrier three and the $2.70 will likely shorten.

Groundbreak is another trial winner which has been nicely supported. The Hawkes-trained colt is by All Too Hard and it has attracted some support at $6 in the betting. Its trial win was strong and it could upset them in this.

Race 1 tip: Veranillo to win ($2.70) at CrownBet.com.au

Race 2 – Club Marconi R69 Handicap (1300m)

Mandee is a quality filly for Ciaron Maher which flashed home late to win at Moonee Valley last start. The three-year-old finished last on debut in the Chairman’s Stakes, but it has returned in style with back-to-back wins and it should go close again. The $3.20 is a nice price on offer from bookmakers which will likely shorten.

Zumbelina has been supported at $3.80 following its win at Canterbury. The Chris Waller-trained filly has produced good outings at both race day starts and it looks likely to handle the rise in distance. Stratum’s progeny are running well so consider here.

Cadogan hasn’t achieved its full potential, but it worked home well last start and the signs are encouraging. The Bjorn Baker-trained colt scored its only career win at Randwick in May, but it has faced two Group one fields since and this is a major step back in grade. $4 suggests it has a nice chance in this.

Race 2 tip: Mandee to win ($3.20) at Sportsbet.com.au

Race 3 – Cosmedic Central R81 Handicap (2400m)

Vassal showed positive signs when third at Rosehill last start and it deserves its chance over this distance. The Chris Waller-trained gelding has staying bloodlines and although it will have to carry a big weight of 61kg in this, it should be tough to beat at $3.

Stablemate Pursuit Of Honour has rattled off two consecutive wins, but it now faces its toughest test to date. The four-year-old won well at Hawkesbury last start by 1.3 lengths and being by Street Cry it should appreciate the 2400m. Tough to line it up against this lot, but the $3.60 suggests it has a winning hope.

Lonely Orphan finished fourth in the Country Classic last start which isn’t a strong form guide at this level, but it is crying out for this distance. The four-year-old is a country-trained type which has been running on well and it could run into the money late in the race. $9 for the win is a touch short, but consider the $2.70 to place.

Race 3 tip: Vassal to win ($3) at Bet365.com

Race 4 – Tab Highway Handicap C3 (1400m)

Artistic Beauty defeated a subsequent winner four starts back and it hasn’t been far away since. It finished fourth in a Highway Handicap last start and it drops down in weight for this. It gets the benefit of Christian Reith in the saddle and it has won second up. Chance at a double figure quote.

Nic’s Vendetta has won two from nine starts with five placings and it almost stole the race last start. It has finished third in two Highway Handicap races this preparation and a win doesn’t look for away. The son of Nicconi is paying nice each way odds of $6 which is worth a gamble.

Say You Love Me ran well behind Better Land last start and Matthew Dunn has a great affinity with the Highway Handicap. The five-year-old by Bel Esprit has the sprinting pedigree and with three wins coming at this distance, it looks a strong chance at $4 after opening at $3.70.

Race 4 tip: Nic’s Vendetta to win ($6) at WilliamHill.com.au

Race 5 – All Our Mob Handicap (1200m)

Meursault is a capable gelding for John O’Shea which has had two trials in preparation for this. The five-year-old goes well fresh up and the small field should help its chances. Its current odds of $3 is a touch too short for our liking, but consider in win selections.

That’s A Good Idea finished just over a length behind Kaepernick last start and that form should be good for this. The Snowden-trained gelding is finding it hard to string wins together, but after two runs this campaign it should be in fit order. Just needs to carry the weight to feature at $3.40.

Moral Victory is an eight-time winner which was outclassed in the Toorak Handicap last start. Its form prior included consecutive wins at Rosehill where it won the Shannon Stakes by beating Caped Crusader by over a length. Dropping back in distance is the worry.

Race 5 tip: That’s A Good Idea to win ($3.40) at WilliamHill.com.au

Race 6 – Club Marconi Amartrice R84 (1200m)

John O’Shea lines up Painted Firetail which finished off well for seventh at Geelong last start. It comes back to Sydney where it is more suited and if it can sit off a strong pace here, it should be able to finish off strongly at odds of $6.

Wine Tales recaptured some form when finishing second behind Cana last start. The former top-liner has good form second up with one win and three placings from five starts. Having New Zealand apprentice Lee Magorrian in the saddle will help with the 3kg claim.

Daysee Doom rises in grade after winning well last start, but it isn’t suited in the weights. The four-year-old mare steps up in grade, but will carry 57kg with Andrew Adkins in the saddle. It faces some seasoned runners here and punters should treat the $2.80 price with caution.

Race 6 tip: Painted Firetail to win ($6) at Sportsbet.com.au

Race 7 – Schweppes Mix & Serve R85 (1500m)

Moher is only a winner of four from 16, but it was a strong winner at Rosehill last start and we’re not surprised at the short odds. The O’Shea-trained gelding destroyed a rating 77 field by 3.5 lengths and it runs its best races on this track and at this distance. The $2.20 is a fair price and there will be plenty of multi bets running through it.

Balmain Boy has been expensive for punters this season with four winless runs at odds of $9 or less. The four-year-old had its chance to win last start at Randwick where it led with 250m to go, but it wasn’t able to hold on. It has yet to win at Rosehill and we question the $5 on offer.

Trafalgar is unbeaten in two fresh up starts and it gets in on a nice weight here. The Waller-trained gelding drops down to 53.5kg for this which makes it tough to beat and kicking off the campaign at 1500m will give it time to finds its feet during the run. Nice each way chance at $6.

Race 7 tip: Moher to win ($2.20) at CrownBet.com.au

Race 8 – Theraces R84 Handicap (1300m)

Asinara gives John O’Shea another strong winning chance and he will be looking for an improved performance from Asinara here. The four-year-old is coming off a poor showing at Rosehill, but it won its only second up start and it contested some tough races last campaign. Chance to atone here at $5.50.

Cana turned its form around by winning at Rosehill last start where it defeated Wine Tales. The Hawkes-trained mare looks a good chance to go back-to-back as it drops in weight and it has won at this distance. Bookmakers have it priced at $6 which looks about fair.

Burning Passion will have to carry 61kg to victory, but it has the class to do so. The James Cummings-trained gelding finished fourth in the October Handicap last start and form out of that race should stack up here. It won at Randwick prior and with some rain projected to fall on the day, that will help its chances come this race.

Race 8 tip: Asinara to win ($5.50) at CrownBet.com.au

Race 9 – Tab Rewards R78 Handicap (1100m)

Raphael’s Cat is a talented runner for the Waterhouse/Bott stables which finished second in the Danehill Stakes before running fourth in the Blue Sapphire. It has obviously had its fair share of problems having not raced since October last year, but respect its ability and it is unbeaten fresh. $4.80 with bookmakers.

Nieta is an improving type which took its record to four wins from eight starts. The John Thompson-trained mare was strong when winning at Randwick last start and it hasn’t been treated overly bad in the weights. It is running well at the moment and punters are supporting it at $3.50 after it opened at $3.70.

Elemenohpee was well backed last start when running fourth at Rosehill, but it will only improve off that run and it should be considered here. It won three consecutive races last campaign with its most recent win coming on this track and it can create its own luck from the inside draw. $5.50 into $4.60.

Race 9 tip: Elemenohpee to win ($4.60) at Sportsbet.com.au
