Race 1 – Maiden Handicap (1100m)

Hot Chocolate returns as one of the best prospects to break the maiden at Rockhampton. The horse had back-to-back second placings prior being turned out. Only two other horses in the eight horse field have raced prior, and one has placed. We’re backing Hot Chocolate in.

Race 1 tip: Hot Chocolate to win at Neds

Race 2 – Benchmark 65 (1835m)

Like ‘Em Sassy is chasing a hat-trick and is well placed to achieve it. The horse beat a bunch of the runners that are taking part in this race recently, and jumps in weight as a consequence. Doesn’t matter to us though, Like ‘Em Sassy will walk home once again.

Race 2 tip: Like ‘Em Sassy to win at Neds

Race 3 – Benchmark 60 (1400m)

We tipped Mishnah last-time out at Rocky and it saluted so why would we jump off now? The horse is chasing a third-straight success and is fresh off a dominant Class 4 victory. The gelding jumps 4.5kg but is in such great form we cannot overlook it.

Race 3 tip: Mishnah to win at Sportsbet

Race 4 – Maiden Plate (1300m)

Dual Personality has placed third in four-straight races and looms as an excellent winning chance. The barrier ten draw is a concern, but the hot form counts for a lot in a field where nothing else stands out.

Race 4 tip: Dual Personality to win at William Hill

Race 5 – Maiden Handicap (1100m)

Doogus finished fifth on debut at Townsville and should only improve on that performance. The three-year-old only finished just under one and a half lengths of the winner on that day and should race even better with fitness and experience on its side.

Race 5 tip: Doogus to win at Neds

Race 6 – Open Handicap (1300m)

Stellar Knight is hunting a fourth win from five starts and looms as a big threat to win that. In the feature event of the day the horse actually drops significant weight here and the form cannot be denied.

Race 6 tip: Stellar Knight to win at William Hill

Race 7 – Class 1 Handicap (1100m)

Miss Rich has failed to make a big impact first-up in the past, but the form prior to being turned out was so strong we’re having a hard time overlooking it here. The horse placed in five-straight races, culminating in a dominant win to break the maiden on December 2.

Race 7 tip: Miss Rich to win at Crownbet
