Race 1 – Maiden Plate (1400m)
We’re giving Stock Up one more chance. The filly should have done better as a short-priced favourite last time out but had a few excuses in the run. The three-year-old should be ready to peak now and we’re backing her in
Race 1 tip: Stock Up to win ($3.50 at Sportsbet)
Race 2 – Maiden Plate (1200m)
Orcein has been trialing well leading into this race and we weren’t discouraged by the opening campaign. The horse wasn’t too far off talented duo Gongs and Meryl and this field doesn’t stack up as well as those two.
Race 2 tip: Orcein to win ($3.80 at Neds)
Race 3 – Maiden Plate (1200m)
The improvement Colombina showed from its resuming fourth to a second placed finish on April 11, just two parts of a length off the winner. We’re backing it to progress further to register a win.
Race 3 tip: Colombina to win ($4 at Sportsbet)
Race 4 – Benchmark 75 (1600m)
A great first-up win means we’re backing Velocita to win once again. The filly confronted a few challenges in the run and still delivered a win, so there’s no reason to doubt her here.
Race 4 tip: Velocita to win ($2.45 at Sportsbet)
Race 5 – Benchmark 78 (1000m)
Hillary Step is in a great position to go back-to-back here. From barrier five the horse will spear out and look to win this from start to finish. We’re backing it to deliver a sight at odds.
Race 5 tip: Hillary Step to win ($11 at William Hill)
Race 6 – ANZAC Day Cup (1800m)
Godolphin runner Drochaid stands out in this race. The horse recorded a strong second-up at Gosford, and he has a win and a second placing from two third-up attempts.
Race 6 tip: Drochaid to win ($5 at Sportsbet)
Race 7 – Benchmark 79 (1200m)
Waller runner In Times Of War resumed well enough on March 28, finishing third behind Trekking at Warwick Farm. The horse has never finished outside the top-two in three second-up attempts and it looms as a major contender.
Race 7 tip: In Times Of War to win ($9 at Neds)
Race 8 – Benchmark 70 (1400m)
In the aptly named Bright Future is racing in good fashion and looks ready to win. From three runs the horse has placed second twice by a combined total length. The early speed will be utilised to lead here and take it out from the front.
Race 8 tip: Bright Future to win ($5 at Ladbrokes)
