Punt Drunk : Golden Sixty A Class Above The Rest At Sha Tin
Punt Drunk News – 25/1/21
How bloody good is a Monday when it is in the middle of a long weekend? We’ll tell ya, really bloody good! So good that we have four local gallops meetings to get us through to a big day on Australia Day. Hopefully the tennis balls are all taped up for the backyard cricket frenzy we’re about to engage in tomorrow, and just remember you can not bowl short enough to your father in-law! Anyway, we’ll shut up and get on with things, there’s money to be won and beers to be sunk

There was a bit of squeaky bum time for the champion gelding Golden Sixty in yesterday’s Steward’s Cup at Sha Tin, but the $1.20 scrapped across the line to secure his 15th win from 16 starts. It makes us think how bloody exciting it would be to see the Lui trained star be one of the wildcard entrants into the All Star Mile. There would need to be one hell of an incentive for connections to bring him here to our shores and would the circuit of The Valley suit his racing style? Well in a race worth $5 million, to us that is one hell of an incentive. Make it happen MVRC!
Speaking of the All Star Mile, how’s this for a deal?
Too Close The ? – a tough horse for @LSmithRacing that will give this race a real shake if he gets in. Family is being bred up with Swettenham stallions. Here’s your chance to own 10% of him for the @allstarmile ?? https://t.co/8yuYKL0YWp

First off, let’s be honest is there a more triggering name for a horse than To Close The Sun? Would it not have killed connections to make it To Close To The Sun? Anyway, we digress! The popular gelding for Lindsey Smith has been nominated for The All Star Mile having put together a superb Victorian record. He has had five trips over the Nullabor for three wins and a minor placing, not bad if you ask us! This time around, as an incentive for more votes the connections have said if he gets into the All Star Mile they will offer up 10% of any prize money won to people who voted for him. Who wouldn’t love a share in 5mil?!?!
Patch keeps racking them up!
What a ripper Patch Adams is! Adds the Great Western Cup ? to his wins in the 2020 Apsley Cup, 2019 Mt Gambier Cup, 2018 Casterton Cup & 2017 Colac Cup. Placed in 10 other country cups as well @Racing

If there is a Country cup throughout Victoria and sometimes even in South Australia you can put your bottom dollar on it that Patch Adams will line up in it. He is rarely a household name but when you have four country cups to your name from your seven wins you deserve to have a glass raised in your honour! Yesterday he took out the Great Western Cup in a ding dong affair with Diplomac Jack and took his prize money to just under half a million dollars! What a marvel, we bloody love ya Patch! Keep it up your legend!
