Warrnambool Horse betting Preview – Monday, January 25 2021

Warrnambool kicks off another week of racing in Victoria when the track hosts an eight race card on Monday afternoon. With a warm summer’s day expected for the ‘Bool looking for runners in the midst of a campaign reaching peak fitness could be the move that pays dividends on Monday afternoon. The track is a Good 4, but we are expecting an upgrade early on the card with the favourable conditions.

The first at Warrnambool is set to jump at 1pm AEDT.

Best Bet: Race 4 – Tycoon Bucks (#13)

Our best on the Warrnambool card comes up in Race 4, where the Abdrew Noblet trained Tycoon Bucks drops back from a city grade maiden. The mare was sent around as a drifting favourite at Sandown on January 6, and struggled to run a place in what looks to be a strong form race. The runner who finished second that day has since come out and won, and when she was runner up at Cranbourne two starts back on December 23 two runners from that race have since gone on to break their maidens. The form has been franked, and with Deany Yendall onboard we expect her to settle in the middle of the back, and with a slick turn of foot be too classy for this maiden field.

Next Best: Race 6 – Silk Jacket (#7)

The Matt Cumani trained Silk Jacket has been the model of consistency throughout her career thus far. After a rare poor performance in the Burrumbeet cup on January 7, we are backing her to right those wrongs and run a big race in the second leg of the quaddie. Prior to her last start effort, she finally broke her maiden at Kyneton on December 3 following five runner up performances and a third place finish. Her form looks to be the form to go with on Monday and will be up on speed throughout. John Allen is yet to miss a place when riding Silk Jacket and was on board for her maiden win, and we expect them to bring up another win on Monday.

Best Value: Race 5 – Bull Dust (#1)

In the opening leg of the Warrnambool quaddie we’re happy to be on the side of the Quinton Scott trained Bull Dust who was a dominant winner last time out at Stawell. He’s a galloper who looks to settle in the first four runners, and from barrier two Laura Lafferty will be able to get him settled just off the leaders heels as she did at Stawell. With the long straight at Warrnambool he should have plenty of time to go through the gears behind the leaders, and looks the value in the BM58 to kick off the quaddie.
