Pakenham time shift because of setting sun
Starting times for staying races at Pakenham night meetings will be brought forward to ensure they are run in daylight.
The seventh race at Pakenham has been amended to start at 8.30pm, 15 minutes earlier than its original time, to ensure it is run before Wednesday’s scheduled sunset.
The 2500m races pass a section of track after the winning post that is not lit to the level of the remainder of the course.
All 2500m-races at future Pakenham night meetings will be programmed to run before sunset.
