Nikolic going to High Court over track ban

Danny Nikolic will try to go to the High Court in a bid to overturn a police order excluding him from racecourses.

The Court of Appeal on Friday upheld the Victorian police chief commissioner’s challenge to a decision that overturned an order banning the former Caulfield Cup-winning jockey from entering specified racetracks.

Special leave to appeal that decision is being sought, Nikolic’s barrister Julian Burnside QC told his separate appeal to regain his jockey licence on Wednesday.
