Sign up to William Hill and use its Double Down feature this Friday night at Moonee Valley.

Race 1 – William Hill Handicap (1000m)

Magnetar has looked good in two unbeaten runs to date and the Hayes/Dabernig-trained gelding looks a winning hope again. The well-bred son of I Am Invincible won by a length on debut at Pakenham before winning at Mornington last start by just under two lengths. It looks a big danger in this.

Mick Price lines up Run Gypsy Run which was well-backed to win on this track last start. The Fastnet Rock filly led the field on a good speed, but the classy Mandee ran it down late. Its debut win came by two lengths and from barrier two with Damien Oliver in the saddle, it looms as a strong winning hope.

Hay Bale is a well-related colt which will enjoy jumping from barrier one. The Robbie Griffiths-trained colt was a nice winner two back before only battling last start, but it has ability and it should be paying nice each way odds in this.

Race 2 – Total Collision Repairs R84 (1000m)

Parcel went to Cranbourne last start as a strong market chance, but it found a couple better in the straight. The Wez Hunter-trained mare is a two-time winner from 15 starts and it’s inconsistency is what makes it a danger to the favourites here. It could run a race at odds.

Aunty Mo was no match for Sheidel at Flemington last start and this is a much easier target. Its form prior included a sixth in the Alinghi Stakes behind Palazzo Pubblico and it has won twice on this track earlier this year. It has won five times at this distance and it should be hard to get past in the straight.

Estaminet is a five-time winner which has class on its side. The Freedman-trained mare has performed well at Moonee Valley in the past and its coming off a fair effort for 10th in the Begonia Belle behind Sheidel. Its form prior was strong and despite carrying 60kg, it will give its opposition a run for their money.

Race 3 – Fisher & Paykel Maiden Plate (1200m)

Tales Of War is twice-placed when fresh up and it placed in its only start at Moonee Valley. The Kylie Vella-trained gelding has been knocking on the door of winning a maiden race for awhile now and this field isn’t the strongest. Chance with some luck.

Stradista produced a career-best performance when second last start and it could continue to improve. It has only one placing from 15 starts, but it could be on the upward trend and the odds should be appealing. Not without a chance.

Dragonbite rarely puts in a bad showing, but it usually finds one or two better than it. The Robert Kingston-trained gelding has placed in four from 11 starts, including one at this distance and it adds appeal to a relatively moderate affair.

Race 4 – Merlin Garage Door Openers (3000m)

Don’t Be Shy was a narrow winner over 2500m last time out and the rise in distance won’t worry it. The John Salantri-trained mare would prefer some moisture in the surface, but it’s in winning form and anything can happen in these staying races. Watch the market for positive betting moves.

Cinnamon Carter was no match for them in the Matriarch Stakes behind Jessy Belle, but its form prior included a win on this track. The Robbie Laing-trained stayer won by a length over 2500m in October and there is some nice form around its other starts this campaign. It is clearly the horse to beat, but the odds might be on the short side.

Barge And Charge has ability over this distance as it showed last start in Adelaide. It won narrowly over 2600m and that holds it in good stead for this. Chance with a repeat effort.

Race 5 – Inglis 55 Second Challenge (955m)

Gun Case finished off well behind O’malley on Cox Plate Day and that form should be strong again here. The Darren Weir-trained gelding has won twice on this track from three starts and it ran a quick time when winning here two back. It recorded 56.65 which is good enough to win most races at this distance and despite rising in weight, it looks tough to beat.

Runson has been in good form this campaign with two wins from its last three starts. The four-year-old is a five-time winner from 11 starts which won by eight lengths at Geelong in August before rising in grade on this track and running third. It finds it tough to win in this grade, but there’s no questioning its ability to run quick times.

Sirbible should be respected here based on its fresh up and track record. The gelding is trained in Alice Springs, but it was considered good enough to run in The Goodwood two starts back. It has won twice fresh up and on this track, so we wouldn’t rule it out at nice odds.

Race 5 tip: Gun Case to win at CrownBet.com.au

Race 6 – Strathmore Community Bank R78 (1600m)

Black Sheep defeated the highly-touted Curragh by a length on this track last start and it could repeat. The Darren Weir-trained gelding was given a nice ride from Luke Nolen and despite rising in weight to 59.5kg, it looks good enough to carry that to victory. Twice a winner on this track and consider for the win.

Entre Nous is dropping back from rating 90 grade last start where it finished fifth and it will find this much easier. The six-year-old has won three times at this distance and it was victorious in its only start at Moonee Valley. It has the ability to win on all surfaces and it only needs to cope with the 61kg to feature.

Temps Voleur hasn’t had the best of luck this campaign, but it should appreciate the drop in class. The Robbie Laing-trained gelding has won twice at the mile and it goes best on dry tracks so consider at what should be an each way quote.

Race 7 – Art Series Hotel Group R78 (1200m)

Cauthen is a former New Zealand top-liner which indicated that it could be back at somewhere near its best when fourth at Bendigo last start. The six-year-old has won and placed from two starts at Moonee Valley and it will enjoy the drop in weight from apprentice Ben Allen. Couldn’t rule it out.

Chase The Horizon has turned in two solid wins of late and that form should stack up nicely in this. The Henry Dwyer-trained horse won by a length at Caulfield before backing that up with a solid win at Bendigo. It stays in this grade and it doesn’t rise too much in the weights due to the claim.

Top Me Up finished second behind Morton’s Fork earlier this campaign and it hasn’t been beaten far since. The Hawkes-trained gelding comes over from Sydney with solid form, mostly at age-group level, but it drops in grade for this and it will only need some luck from the wide draw with Dwayne Dunn riding.

Race 7 tip: Chase The Horizon to win at CrownBet.com.au

Race 8 – Happy 70th Birthday Errol Perera Handicap (2040m)

Arianne has been out of form this campaign, but it made some late ground on this track last start and it could provide punters with some value. The Pat Hyland-trained mare is in the right stable to see out this distance and if it can get the right run throughout, it has a winning chance.

Miss Wynette ran on nicely for fourth when fresh up last start and its form prior came in tough races. It won well at Caulfield five starts back when beating Tears Of Joy and if it can replicate that effort, it should go close to winning here.

Sweet Redemption lines up after winning at Randwick last time out. The four-year-old mare won in rating 72 grade for Waterhouse/Bott and it has raced well on this track in the past. It finished third in the Alexandra Stakes behind Thames Court and it looks a top chance based on that.

Race 8 tip: Miss Wynette to win at Sportsbet.com.au
