Moonee Valley night racing form and free tips, Friday December 2

Moonee Valley

MOONEE Valley hosts the first night meeting in December with a quality eight-race card and we have all the form and free tips available.

The Inglis 55 Second Challenge is the highlight race of the night where 11 runners have accepted the challenge to run the quickest time over 955m and we think the record might be broken on Friday night.

The rest of the card features some great betting fields which kicks off with the Cox Plate Charity Pin Plate at 6.30pm.

Punters can score some extra Christmas cash by signing up with CrownBet for 100% up to $500 in bonus bets.

Race 1 – Cox Plate Charity Pin Plate (1600m)

Cherub has placed in only one from seven starts, but that came last time out and it could improve from that outing. The Heath Connors-trained mare has the breeding to suggest it will appreciate further and it won’t have to improve much to feature here.

Canterbury Walk finished third when stepping up in distance last start and the progression to 1600m looks ideal. The Paul Rocke-trained mare is a lightly-tried six-year-old which was specked in the market on debut which means the stable was confident. Chance here from barrier three.

Heather Honey has placed three times from nine starts and it went very close at Ballarat last start. The four-year-old gets a significant jockey change with Craig Williams riding and that could turn consistent form into winning form.

Race 2 – Quest Moonee Valley Handicap (1600m)

Electric Aura is in good form having finished second at its last start. The Nigel Blackiston-trained mare was a strong winner at Moe three starts back and it goes best at this distance. The Shocking progeny are running well so don’t discount its chances.

My Obsession brings the class to this field with three wins from 19 starts. The Darren Weir-trained mare has finished out of the money in only one of four starts at Moonee Valley and it gets some weight relief with Ben Allen in the saddle. Solid win chance in this.

Goldie’s Fortune only battled at Bendigo last start, but that came behind Melbourne spring carnival winner The Chairman and that form is strong. The four-year-old was a winner in March and its form has been inconsistent since, but it could run into the money.

Race 3 – K Line Australian Handicap (3000m)

Bullish Stock was well-backed in a similar race last start where it flashed home for third. The Hayes/Dabernig-trained gelding defeated the handy Curragh at Mornington to kick off this campaign and a similar effort takes it close here. It will see out this distance.

Four Carat drops back in grade after running fourth in the Sandown Cup and that form should be taken seriously. The Waller-trained gelding is finding it tough to win a race, but it should get every chance here with Craig Williams on its back and running only five lengths behind Qewy is a good form guide. Will be well backed in the market.

Nomis comes over from Gawler with consistent form and it should appreciate the distance. The six-year-old was a winner over 2100m at Gawler three back and its subsequent efforts have been solid. Well-weighted at 55kg.

Race 3 tip: Bullish Stock to win at WilliamHill.com.au

Race 4 – Stud & Stable Staff Awards 3YO (1000m)

Brugal Reward is a more than capable filly which hasn’t done much wrong in six starts. The Weir-trained runner was a strong winner four back before running second behind Hear The Chant at Sandown. It ran a quick time over 1000m last start and another strong run is expected.

Divertente defeated Brugal Reward last start which made it consecutive wins. The Stuart Webb-trained filly will get all favours from the inside barrier and jockey Ben Thompson takes 2kg off its back. Should be heavily backed in the market.

Balayage was a stylish winner over 1100m on debut and the drop back in distance shouldn’t worry it. The Henry Dwyer-trained filly won by 1.25 lengths in November and although it has drawn awkwardly in barrier eight, it has enough speed to warrant inclusion.

Race 4 tip: Brugal Reward to win at CrownBet.com.au

Race 5 – Inglis 55 Second Challenge (955m)

Patient was a handy winner on debut at Echuca where it was backed into an odds-on quote. The Richard Laming-trained mare has been patiently handled, having had only one run as a four-year-old, but it clearly has ability and it has breeding on its side. Another big run looks imminent.

Fraulein Rustie deserves a chance at city racing after winning by 2.25 lengths last start. The four-year-old made it back-to-back victories with the win at Wangaratta and it has shown enough speed to compete at this level. Linda Meech will have to be at her best from barrier eight, but consider here.

Tycoon Kate has been around the mark this season with three starts for two placings. The Written Tycoon mare won its only start at this distance and it finished under a length from the winner at Kilmore last start. Well weighted runner.

Race 5 tip: Patient to win at Bet365.com

Race 6 – McMahon’s Dairy Handicap (1600m)

Red Ticker won well two starts back at Cranbourne before running a narrow second last start. The Hayes/Dabernig-trained gelding hasn’t finished worse than third in five starts at this distance and that reads very well for this race.

Le Boss has returned from a spell with consecutive placings. The Robbie Griffiths-trained gelding finished second at Cranbourne before running third at Pakenham and another run at this level will do it some good. This distance is ideal so put in the mix.

Streets Of Dubai turned average form into a seven-length romp at Ballarat last start. The Hayes/Dabernig-trained colt broke maidens in style and there’s no reason it can’t keep that form in tact. Bred to be good and the in-form Dean Yendall rides.

Race 6 tip: Le Boss to win at CrownBet.com.au

Race 7 – Ascend Sales Trophies Handicap (2040m)

Onya Keithy is nearing a win after a string of consistent efforts. It has placed in four of its last five races and it has placed in both starts at this distance. It handles all track conditions so we wouldn’t rule it out at each way odds.

Inwood was a last start winner at Sale which was a good form race. The David Brideoake-trained colt had good form prior with a placing behind I Taut I Saw and it should progress through the grades nicely.

Ticked did the job well last start at Cranbourne when winning by two lengths. The John O’Shea-trained filly appreciated the rise in distance and it should only improve with more ground. It rises up to 2040m here and that looks ideal.

Race 7 tip: Inwood to win at Bet365.com

Race 8 – William Hill R70 Handicap (1200m)

Quarck was a last start winner over Tycoon Kate and that form might get franked earlier in the night. The five-year-old was a winner on debut by five lengths which indicated its potential and despite a poor effort second up, it rebounded well and it can handle this level of racing.

Lady Selkirk has plenty of ability and it usually runs well fresh. The Matthew Williams-trained mare won the Silverbowl Final at Flemington in July and although it won’t get any favours from barrier 15, it is a four-time winner from 10 starts which could figure in the finish.

Sword Of Justice comes into this with winning form after scoring by 1.25 lengths at Sale last start. The four-year-old rarely runs a bad race and it has won two starts at this distance. Expect another strong effort in an even field.

Race 8 tip: Quarck to win at Sportsbet.com.au
