Golden Slipper-winning jockey Ben Melham will miss the Dato Tan Chin Nam Stakes meeting after failing in an appeal against a careless riding suspension.

Melham was outed for seven meetings at Sandown last Wednesday.

The Racing Appeals and Disciplinary Board dismissed his appeal in Melbourne on Monday.

It means Melham will miss this week’s racing including Saturday’s Moonee Valley meeting which features the Group Two Dato Tan Chin Nam Stakes and Group Two McEwen Stakes.

He can return to riding on Sunday.
