Vinnie’s Volley was a stylish winner on debut and that form should stack up nicely here. The John Bary-trained runner stays down in the weights and gets jockeys’ premiership leader Samantha Collett in the saddle.

Race 2 – 2YO Maiden (1200m)

Power of Strength has quite shown up in two starts to date, but it should find this easier and Australian jockey Damien Thornton comes over to ride. Team Rogerson is going well at the moment so keep it safe.

Race 3 – BM75 Handicap (1200m)

Hugo The Boss showed its true form when winning last time out and that’s the same Hugo that punters saw as a juvenile. The Bary-trained four-year-old has its confidence back now and that could be dangerous.

Race 4 – BM65 Handicap (1400m)

Neverstopdreaming has improved significantly this preparation and it capped that form off with a win last start. It gets a claimer in the saddle here which helps and it could be at value odds.

Race 5 – BM65 Handicap (2100m)

Felaar is from the powerful Marsh stable and it capped off two placings with a win last start. The Ekraar gelding has drawn the car park in barrier 18, but consider here with some luck in transit.

Race 6 – Trentham Stakes (2100m)

Former Australian Chance to Dance has won twice from four starts this campaign, but the other two efforts have been dreadful. It’s a good chance here on its best form and punters will be hoping it’s in the mood.

Race 7 – Levin Classic (1600m)

Age of Fire burned punters at Ellerslie last start with a booming win. The Autridge/Richards-trained colt looks to have more top-end wins in store this season and it could be the most-improved runner from this stable.

Race 8 – Open Handicap (1600m)

The Justice League couldn’t have won any easier at Ellerslie last start and it has always been a confidence runner. The Nigel Tiley-trained gelding has had three runs this time in so the fitness levels are up and it should run well again.

Race 9 – BM75 Handicap (1600m)

King’s Cross worked to the line well last time out and the former Hong Kong-trained runner looks a nice shot here. The weight is a concern, but there isn’t much covering this field.
