Heavy track forces Winx out of Chelmsford

THE heavy 9 track at Randwick has forced trainer Chris Waller to scratch Winx from the Chelmsford Stakes.

Waller stated that he wasn’t wanting to “risk” running Winx second up on a heavy track and that he had allowed for the schedule change.

“I’ve planned a preparation to miss a race,” Waller said.

Waller said Winx will have its next start in the Group 1 George Main Stakes at Randwick in a fortnight.

Bookmakers are yet to frame a new market for the Chelmsford, but Prized Icon will be the favourite ahead of Hartnell which finished second behind Winx in the Warwick Stakes last start.
