A SENSATIONALLY rated ride from Adam Hyeronimus has seen Sweet Redemption secure the Group 3 Sydney Markets Toy Show Quality at Randwick on Saturday.

The resuming Sweet Redemption was taken to the front early in the race and booted clear at the 400m mark, fending off a charging brigade of rivals in the shadows of the post to return +870 at Crownbet.com.au.

Hyeronimus said he was following orders on the five-year-old to take the lead early in the piece and kick on from the front.

“They were my instructions,” Hyeronimus said.

“Gai said she’s fit, she’s had three trials, and don’t be scared to bowl her along. She had an uncontested lead for a majority of the race. I picked the pace up at the 600m. The track is very quick today and very hard.

“It suits Gai’s horses so everything panned out well.”

The luckless Euro Angel finished in second after receiving racing room very late in the piece while Imposing Lass rounded out the placings in a charging finish.

Euro Angel’s jockey Brenton Avdulla said he was happy with the horse despite not everything going to plan.

“She ran super,” Avdulla said.

“Just sort of bungled the start a little bit, nothing took me into the race, couldn’t get her to the outside, she let rip once clear.”

The win was Sweet Redemption’s sixth win from 22 attempts, and the horse’s co-trainer Adrian Bott said race fitness played a big role in the win.

“We said she was nice and forward going into today’s race and the way the pattern of the day has been playing, we adopted that approach to make it a good test today, being that she is quite fit. Adam gave her a good positive ride.

“She was strong enough to hold on late.”

Bott said there are no grand plans in mind for Sweet Redemption, which will given time to find the right race.

“We’ll just keep her to the fillies and mares races and keep taking her through her grades.”
