Fontein Ali has placed in back-to-back events and will take some beating on Friday night. The horse returns the mile after progressing through the distances over its last two runs and looks well suited to finally breakthrough.

Race 1 tip: Fontein Ali to win at Sportsbet

Race 2 – Maiden Plate (1300m)

Estrella Fella can spear it from gate five and give the field something to catch. The son of Starspangledbanner comes in well at the weights after a second and fourth placing this preparation and we think it will breakthrough at the fifth time of asking.

Race 2 tip: Estrella Fella to win at Neds

Race 3 – Maiden Plate (1400m)

The aptly named Hardly Surprising wouldn’t shock anyone if it broke through at the third time of asking. The horse has been making steady progression throughout its two career runs, where it placed second on both occasions. Hardly Surprising looks ready to win.

Race 3 tip: Hardly Surprising to win at Neds

Race 4 – Maiden Plate (1000m)

Paris Flirting is desperately unlucky to still be a maiden after missing out by a nose upon resumption. The horse gets a horror barrier, but it will be much fitter following the resuming run and looks well placed to shake the maiden tag.

Race 5 – Benchmark 70 (1000m)

It’s go-time for Belwazi. After a terrific run of three-straight wins the horse hit somewhat of a wall, going down at the Valley as a short-priced favourite before fading badly at Sandown on January 10. This is a horse that has plenty of class though and we’re backing a bounce back performance.

Race 5 tip: Belwazi to win at William Hill

Race 6 – Benchmark 64 (2060m)

Akamon steps straight out of maiden company and into a tough BM64 assignment, but we’re backing it in to make a direct impact. The strength of its breakthrough win at Geelong was enough to suggest it has the ability to be a ratings riser.

Race 6 tip: Akamon to win at William Hill

Race 7 – Benchmark 64 (1300m)

Expinsive ran wonderfully well on its resumption, missing out by a nose to Ceylon and we think it goes one better here. The horse has recorded two wins from four attempts second-up and gets to a track and distance it has placed at before.

Race 7 tip: Expinsive to win at Crownbet

Race 8 – Benchmark 64 (1500m)

Zero Secrets is third-up on Friday where it has placed at previously at in the past. The horse blitzed the field first-up to win its maiden before missing out by a short-head the very next start in its Class 1 debut. Zero Secrets looks well placed to end the night in winning fashion for Horse Betting followers.

Race 8 tip: Zero Secrets to win at Sportsbet
