Dunn defeats his fellow apprentices at Moe

Dylan Dunn has added a win against his fellow Victorian apprentices to his recent overseas success in Abu Dhabi.

Last Sunday week Dunn won the Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak Apprentice World Championship Final in Abu Dhabi, while on Tuesday he took out the latest heat of the Rising Stars Series at Moe.

Tuesday’s race was the seventh of 24 scheduled apprentice-only races in Victoria this season culminating in the final at Flemington in July.

Dunn rode the Jack Wilson-trained gelding Game Up Hardy in the benchmark-58 race, beating Jake Bayliss on Perfect Rush by a nose.

It was Dunn’s first win in the series this season, earning him 12 points to take his total to 19 with Regan Bayliss leading on 24.
