Caulfield Cup weights to be releases
Betting on the Caulfield Cup could be in for a reshuffle following the declaration of weights.
Racing Victoria chief handicapper Greg Carpenter will release the weights for the Group One handicap on October 15 at midday on Wednesday.
Victoria Derby winner Tarzino currently holds favouritism for the 2400m race at $13 ahead of VRC Oaks winner Jameka at $18.
Also sharing the second line are two of Aidan O’Brien’s Irish entrants Highland Reel and Scottish.
Nominations for the Melbourne Cup closed on Tuesday with 124 horses entered for the $6 million race on November 1.
Carpenter will release weights for that race on September 13.
