Catchy set for Golden Slipper after stellar Blue Diamond win
UNBEATEN two-year-old Catchy looks set to compete in the Group One Golden Slipper Stakes at Rosehill after taking out Saturday’s Blue Diamond Stakes in stylish fashion.
The Hayes and Daberning-trained filly overcame a wide gate and a less-than-ideal run in transit to take out Saturday’s feature at Caulfield after unleashing a devastating run down the outside.

After the impressive win, bookmakers have wound the Fastnet Rock progeny in to single figures, but Ladbrokes.com.au is still offering +1000 to take out the Golden Slipper.
Fellow undefeated filly She Will Reign remains at the head of the Golden Slipper market at $3.
Co-trainer Tom Daberning said the plan is to take his superstar Catchy to Sydney whilst keeping one eye on the world’s richest two-year-old race.
“She’s pulled up [well], she’s got an amazing appetite, like a lot of the Fastnet Rocks do,” Dabernig told Melbourne radio station RSN 927.
“She’s a really sound filly. She’s in great order.
“We will definitely be looking at the Golden Slipper now.
“She’ll be doing plenty of work on the Sydney leg, and providing she’s right, we’re definitely looking at heading that way.”
Daberning believes the challenge of going to Sydney to beat the locals will be a difficult one, but thinks he has the right horse to get the job done.
“It’s not easy for a Melbourne horse to beat the Sydneysiders first time on that leg, but she’s pretty versatile.”
“She’s a real iron horse, a masculine filly; she probably looks more a colt than a filly.
“A lot will depend on the next three weeks, but I’d expect she has the constitution to cope with it.”
