QUADDIE lovers are headed to the rural city of Ballarat in the heartland of Victoria after being let down at Pakenham last week.

A number of unexpected runners jumped up to claim the prize, and a few late scratchings did not help us out either.

We are a confident lot at HorseBetting.com.au however, and we believe this week’s quaddie will deliver a healthy dividend.

Race five on the card at Ballarat is the Lewis Seib Memorial benchmark 78, which kicks off the quaddie at 3pm.

Race 5 – Lewis Seib Memorial BM78 (1200m)

Wind Force looks like the standout competitor amongst this field. The four-year-old has had a great lead in to this contest and is looking to continue a sensational record which has seen it place in 60 percent of races it has taken part in.

Subject To Change is a quality runner that had no luck last time out. The five-year-old jumped awkwardly and subsequently finished seventh, but before that had won two straight races. There is no reason to believe the gelding cannot bounce straight back.

Aurelius Hero looks ready to win after just missing out at Ballarat two weeks ago. The five-year-old rocketed home but lost by a long nose. An on-the-pace run would suit and it has the turn of foot to put the field away if it is in the mix when it matters.

Race 6 – Hygain BM64 (1600m)

Zagaya is the best horse in this field, and at its peak will easily take this race out. The gelding has only missed the placings once in its last six races and has won twice in that stretch. Only concern is barrier nine but has the early speed to overcome that.

Zipped Up seems the only danger to Zagaya. The mare has an ideal barrier and has placed third up on a previous preparation. The four-year-old also has a great record at the distance which has seen it place in half of its attempts at the mile journey.

Race 7 – Sportbet’s New Form Handicap Class 1 (1400m)

The feature race of the day has three clear standouts that should be fighting out the class one race.

Sea Lady’s last three runs have been exceptional and looks well placed to make the elusive break through on Thursday. The filly has previously placed twice at three attempts at the distance and will benefit from the weight relief on some the key market elects.

Lucky Beau is expected to go forward and try and pitch it from the front on Thursday and we are anticipating an uncontested lead for the three-year-old. The colt should be fresh after a 32-day spell from the track. Another placing on Thursday will see the talented prospect maintain a sensational record of placing in 75 percent of its races.

Miss Adequate is jumping up significantly in class on Thursday but its maiden victory suggests it can be a progressive type. Just under a month ago it torched the field at Bendigo to register its first win and anything close to that performance would see it right in the mix here.

Race 8 – Hygain BM64 (1200m)

Shauquin is a runner that could surprise after winning its maiden in its second career start. The three-year-old won sharply at Bendigo just under a month ago and displayed a great ability to hold out its rivals. Another strong showing is expected.

Tracey’s Star is the quintessential hit-or-miss horse of the field. At its best it could put this field away easily, but the four-year-old has shown in the past it does not love the hard stuff if it does not get a race to suit. We are including the horse on trust.

Fast Tycoon may be using this race as a stepping stone, but that does not mean it will not be looking to win this race. The Hayes-Daberning runner looks to be a progressive type that has a class advantage on a lot of the runners in this field.
