Azkadellia on track for Group One Tiara

Trainer Ciaron Maher has put Azkadellia’s Stradbroke Handicap failure down to being on the wrong part of the track.

The mare was finished 10th as the $4 favourite in Saturday’s Group One race at Eagle Farm won by Under The Louvre.

Maher said she had pulled up well and there was no reason to change plans to run in the Tattersall’s Tiara on Saturday week, the final Group One race of the Australian season.

“The track was clearly a lot better outside. The horses in contention were the widest runners,” Maher told Melbourne radio RSN.

“She’s pulled up really well. We’ll put a saddle on her tomorrow.

“I’m sure she’ll bounce back. Providing she gallops well next week we will head to the Tiara.”

Godolphin will not run three-year-old filly Ghisoni after her fifth in the Dane Ripper Stakes.
