Apprentice suffers head injury in fall

Apprentice Kate Brooks is to be transferred to Royal Adelaide Hospital after suffering a head injury in a race at Alice Springs.

The National Jockeys Trust said Brooks was responsive after Saturday’s fall following which she was placed in an induced coma.

The NJT said her condition was listed as stable. and she would be transported to Adelaide on Sunday.
