All Too Huiying on trial for Derby start

All Too Huiying
Three-year-old All Too Huiying will put a Queensland Derby start on the line at Randwick.

All Too Huiying can earn a return trip to the scene of one of his finest performances with a strong performance at Randwick.

The Gary Moore-trained colt auditions for a potential crack at the Group One Queensland Derby (2200m) when the stayer lines up in the Wilson Asset Management Handicap (2000m) on Saturday.

“He’s got one good run in Queensland as a two-year-old when he ran second to Tangled in the Champagne Classic last May,” he said.

All Too Huiying struggled in the Magic Millions Trophy (2200m) on the Gold Coast in January, but Moore believed he had improved despite a luckless run in the Listed Canberra Guineas (1400m) in March.

“I don’t think the Gold Coast run should come in to play, we just went too hard and he was probably coming to the end of his prep. I don’t think 2000 metres will be a problem for him,” Moore said.

A minor placing over 1500m at Randwick on May 5 was encouraging and Moore said All Too Huiying had worked solidly since.

“This is the lead-up race to the Derby, he’s improved since his last run and he’s back to his opportune distance,” Moore said.
