Rail move causes delay at Cranbourne

Officials have been forced to move the running rail at Cranbourne to allow the race meeting to go ahead.

Jockeys walking the track before Thursday’s first race found holes where the running rail was positioned at the last meeting.

Racing Victoria steward Wade Hadley said several jockeys had spotted a patch about three metres off the rail which they didn’t think was safe.

The meeting was delayed 90 minutes while the rail was moved out three metres from the 1000m mark to the winning post.
