14 horse field confirmed for Group 1 Hong Kong Sprint
A world-class field of 14 runners has been selected for the Group 1 LONGINES Hong Kong Sprint on December 11, which includes two Australian-trained entries.
2016 Group 1 Manikato Stakes winner Rebel Dane will join Group 1 Winterbottom Stakes winner Takedown in representing Australia at the International Meeting on December 11 with Takedown being well-backed in the betting.
The Gary Moore-trained four-year-old was given an international rating of 113 after its win at Ascot on Saturday, which was just good enough to see it feature in the Hong Kong Sprint field.
Takedown was flown into Hong Kong on Wednesday morning with Rebel Dane booked to fly from Sydney on Sunday.
Rebel Dane caused an upset win in the Manikato Stakes at Moonee Valley and will have to repeat the feat at odds of $21 at William Hill for the Hong Kong Sprint.
Australia will also be represented by Lucky Bubbles, Not Listenin’tome and Strathmore which were all bred in Australia with New Zealand-bred runners represented by Aerovelocity, Amazing Kids and Super Jockey.
