Treasurethe Moment set for Angus Armanasco Stakes return

Matt Laurie is optimistic that Group 1 VRC Oaks (2500m) winner Treasurethe Moment can signal a promising autumn campaign when she returns to racing in the Group 2 Angus Armanasco Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield on Saturday.
Construction work at the track unsettled the three-year-old before a gallop on Tuesday morning, but she quickly settled under jockey Damien Lane and impressed her trainer.
“I’m glad we brought her out here,” Laurie said.
“There’s a lot of construction going on and she was a little nervy. But we let her flow around with the earmuffs on and I was happy.
“She looked good and Damian was happy.
“We’ve done enough to have her ready for Saturday and hopefully it’s an exciting preparation ahead.”
Treasurethe Moment has not raced since her Oaks triumph on November 7 but has completed two trials at Cranbourne and Sandown.
“I thought Cranbourne was good,” Laurie said.
“She finished not far off the likes of Magic Time and a few other pretty smart horses that raced well over the weekend, and then went to Sandown for a trial and we made her go an extra furlong past the post.
“She’s prepared to win. She can do it, but we’ll see. She’s a good horse and it looks a nice starting point.”
