What | Canterbury Races |
Where | Canterbury Park Racecourse – King Street, Canterbury NSW 2193 |
When | Wednesday, November 20, 2024 |
First Race | 2pm AEDT |
Metro racing returns to Canterbury Park Racecourse on Wednesday afternoon, with a quickfire seven-part program set for decision. The rail moves out +3m after racing in the true position on Friday night, and with no significant rainfall predicted leading into raceday, punters can expect the Soft 6 rating to be upgraded into the Good range at some stage. The opening event is scheduled to get underway at 2pm local time.
Best Bet at Canterbury: Accredited
The Joseph Pride-trained Accredited returns after a 146-day spell and comes through some strong form lines from last preparation. The son of All Too Hard was close up behind Fleetwood first-up last campaign before a couple luckless runs left the five-year-old without a win across three starts. He draws gate one as Nash Rawiller gets legged aboard for the first time, and provided he can get off the inside running rail at a crucial stage, Accredited should take a power of beating.
Best Bet
Race 7 – #4 Accredited (1)
5yo Gelding | T: Joseph Pride | J: Nash Rawiller (58.5kg)
Next Best at Canterbury: Up To Mischief
Up To Mischief strung together three impressive wins last preparation before coming undone at Caulfield on May 11. It proved to be a classy BM70, and she was never in contention, as Miss Aria bolted away with the prize. Six horses have produced wins out of that race, and as the Ciaron Maher-trained mare heads back to Sydney in this more suitable BM64 contest, punters can expect Up To Mischief to get back to winning ways and justify the short price with Picklebet.
Next Best
Race 3 – #3 Up To Mischief (4)
4yo Mare | T: Ciaron Maher | J: Nash Rawiller (61.5kg)
Best Value at Canterbury: Red Hot Lizzie
Red Hot Lizzie returns after 118 days off the scene and an eye-catching victory at this course on July 24. The daughter of Hellbent made every post a winner on that occasion, breaking her maiden status at start two. She doesn’t need to lead from the gun draw in barrier two this time around; however, with five of the 11 runners engaged last-start winners, it might be a good idea for Nash Rawiller to take luck out of the equation.
Best Value
Race 6 – #9 Red Hot Lizzie (2)
4yo Mare | T: Ciaron Maher | J: Nash Rawiller (57kg)
