Vow And Declare targets spring campaign, skips Melbourne Cup
Vow And Declare is gearing up for the 2024 spring campaign after a hard-fought win in the Group 3 Tatts Cup at Eagle Farm in Australia.
The eight-year-old triumphed in the race for the second time, marking a comeback five years after his earlier victory as a three-year-old in 2019.
Despite securing a monumental win with his Melbourne Cup win in the past, Vow And Declare won’t be aiming to repeat that feat in 2024.
Matt Harrington, manager for trainer Danny O’Brien, mentioned that plans are underway for Vow And Declare’s races.
Possible races lined up for Vow And Declare this spring include the Zipping Classic at Caulfield, which he conquered back in 2022.
Harrington highlighted Vow And Declare’s recent win in the Tatts Cup as a testament to his enduring skill and talent.

His stablemate Young Werther also put up a show by finishing second in the race.
Harrington commended Young Werther’s effort, stating that he gave it his all and showed determination on the track.
Vow And Declare is currently at $71 odds with the top Australian bookmakers for the Group 1 Caulfield Cup in October.
