The Triscay Stakes is a Group 3 race for four-year-old mares and up, run over 1200m under quality handicap conditions at Randwick.
Conducted by the Australian Turf Club, it was first held in 1995, with Light Up The World claiming victory.
Named after the champion filly Triscay, who won the AJC Oaks, Queensland Oaks, and Australian Guineas, the race held Listed status until its upgrade in 2014.
The 2024 edition, worth $250,000, was won by Semana, defeating Olentia and C’Est Magique.
Notable past winners include Shindig (1997), Victory Vein (2004), Hot Danish (2008), Dystopia (2012), Alassio (2019), Sweet Deal (2020), Snapdancer (2022), and Semana (2024).

Recent runnings of the Triscay Stakes:
- Semana ($4.40) launched at her rivals to claim the Group 3 Triscay Stakes (1200m) at Randwick, continuing to build on an impressive return for the Ciaron Maher barn. She was excellent first-up at Wyong first-up before heading to the Gold Coast second-up, putting on a gutsy display to score by two lengths in the Listed Magic Millions Cup (1400m). Jason Collett showed plenty of confidence in his mare tackling Group level for the first time in her four-year career, taking a mid-field sit to remain on the outside of race favourite Olentia ($2.60). It was the Matthew Dale-trained Penthouse ($9.00) leading them up on a strong temp throughout the 1400m, while Either Oar ($10.00) wanted to put herself in the firing line early doors. The Melbourne raider C’est Magique ($5.00) was able to gain the perfect economical run just in behind the leading pair and seemingly got every chance to let down under Tim Clark. When the whips were cracking, Jason Collett pulled Semana to the middle of the course, while Tommy Berry on Olentia attempted to sneak along the inside running rail, possibly stopping her momentum at a crucial stage.
- Warwick Farm trainer Bryce Heys has a small but in-form team and the roll continued when four-year-old mare Po Kare Kare scored a comfortable victory in the 2023 Group 3 Triscay Stakes (1200m) at Randwick. The victory provided Heys with his first Group success, with the New Zealander having previously trained Spieth to a Listed win in 2016 prior to multiple Group One placings. Despite entering the race off a rating of just 74, Heys was keen to run Po Kare Kare third-up in the Group Three feature and under a good ride by apprentice Tyler Schiller, the daughter of Savabeel proved an easy winner.
- It was a delayed start to the 2022 Group 3 Triscay Stakes at Royal Randwick, but a cool, calm and collected Snapdancer took it all in her stride and gave her rivals a galloping lesson in the 1200m feature. The Ciaron Maher & David Eustace-trained mare started a well-backed $2.90 favourite in the Group 3 event, and the punters got it bang on, as she romped in by 2.66 lengths. The five-year-old mare was dominant when winning the $1 million Magic Millions Fillies & Mares race at the Gold Coast on January 15, and she backed that up at Randwick under James McDonald once again. After finding the front from barrier five, Snapdancer never really looked in doubt, as she cruised into the straight under a strong hold, before letting down with her brilliant turn of foot.
