The Group 3 Dark Jewel Classic and the Listed Scone Cup headline the eight-race card at Scone this Friday afternoon. The track is rated a Soft 5 at the time of writing and the rail is in the true position for the entire circumference of the course. HorseBetting.com.au brings you the best bets and top quaddie numbers for Scone Cup Day, which will kick off at 12:20pm.
Best Bet: Glowing Red
Kris Lees and Samantha Clenton combine in the final race of the day with three-year-old filly Glowing Red. The daughter of Artie Schiller has had just four career starts, winning two and placing in the minor numbers on the other two occasions. She comes off a last-start win at Port Macquarie where she ran quicker than both the maiden and the Benchmark 58 over 1200m on the same day. Drawn well in barrier four, Clenton will have her handy in the run. She is paying a big price, but Glowing Red can win this.

Next Best: More Prophets
More Prophets brings arguably the best form into the Dark Jewel Classic after running a brilliant third behind Lost And Running last time out at Randwick in a Benchmark 88. The John Thompson-trained mare has never missed the placings in nine career starts and is a two-time winner over 1400m. She did get a long way back first-up, leaving her with too much to do late over the 1200m, but the rise in distance looks ideal. She has drawn barrier five, which can allow her to settle closer to the speed, and with only 54kg on her back under Tim Clark we expect her to go very close in this Group 3.
Race 6 – More Prophets (#12)[rmOC_events_list event_ids=1369315_06]
Best Value: Bottega
Gerald Ryan & Sterling Alexiou will be hoping Bottega can get back in the winner’s stall for the first time in a year. The Snitzel entire resumed in the Newcastle Newmarket and was only grabbed late by Gem Song, before running third in the Doncaster Prelude behind Yao Dash and Mr Sea Wolf. In his most recent start, he failed to beat a runner home at Randwick after being ridden further forward than usual. He did plenty wrong there, so we are happy to forgive that. The step up to 1600m in the Scone Cup should suit, and barrier four is perfect for Tommy Berry to let them sort their positions out around him. He is a great each-way play in the feature.
Race 7 – Bottega (#6)[rmOC_events_list event_ids=1369315_07]
