Rosehill tips & full form for Saturday, February 24

ROSEHILL is back this weekend and the Sydney venue has a great nine race card for us to wade through.

The Silver Slipper Stakes is one of the key fixtures of the day, which gives the winner a ballot exempt path to the Golden Slipper in a month’s time.

There’s plenty of other great races to get through, so let’s get stuck in.

Race 1 – Class 2 Highway Handicap (1100m)

Try A Lil Harder has been great leading into this race and looks as good a prospect as any. The horse recorded back-to-back wins this preparation before placing at Warwick Farm in a decent race. Looks well suited here.

Race 1 tip: Try A Lil Harder to win ($3.20 at William Hill)

Race 2 – Open Handicap (1500m)

Show A Star is a quality runner that has peaked this preparation. After resuming with a third placing the horse has gone on to record two wins in quality races at Rosehill over this course and distance and another Warwick Farm. Show A Star looks poised.

Race 2 tip: Show A Star to win ($3.70 at Neds)

Race 3 – Silver Slipper Stakes (1100m)

Sunlight is the best two-year-old in the country in our opinion and it will show it here. The filly dominated the Magic Millions 2YO Classic and we believe its on a path to completing the 2YO Classic/Golden Slipper double.

Race 3 tip: Sunlight to win ($2.90 at Sportsbet)

Race 4 – Open Handicap (1100m)

The third-up Pendeloque is seeking a hat-trick and is well placed to give it a real crack. The horse has only missed the placings once in its six race career and despite the wide gate it will give a great sight.

Race 4 tip: Pendeloque to win ($6.50 at Sportsbet)

Race 5 – Vinery Stud Millie Fox Stakes (1300m)

Prompt Response returned in great order at The Farm on February 10 and we think it can deliver once again. The second-up record isn’t great but the resuming was good enough to suggest to us it can do the business here.

Race 5 tip: Prompt Response to win ($3.80 at William Hill)

Race 6 – Open Listed (1900m)

[rmOC_events_list event_ids=1181934_06]

Singing is aiming for four wins in a row and is well placed to deliver. The horse has won by a combined total of 6.3 lengths over its last two and there’s no reason to doubt it in this contest, especially from gate three.

Race 6 tip: Singing to win ($3.20 at William Hill)

Race 7 – Hobartville Stakes (1400m)

There’s a big jump in grading that D’argento has to overcome here but there’s no reason to think it’s not up to the challenge. The Waller colt is undefeated across three runs and from barrier four it will be a major player. The gate will play a big factor here as favourite Kementari has drawn barrier nine.

Race 7 tip: D’argento to win ($6.50 at Crownbet)

Race 8 – Benchmark 95 (1100m)

[rmOC_events_list event_ids=1181934_08]

In a wide-open affair My Favorite stands out for us at a decent price. The horse has a great second-up record of a win and two placings from three races and from barrier two it will be well placed to deliver a strong performance.

Race 8 tip: My Favorite to win ($11 at Crownbet)

Race 9 – Benchmark 89 (1350m)

[rmOC_events_list event_ids=1181934_09]

Up ‘N’ Rolling knows how to do exactly that fresh. The Waller-trained five-year-old has a win and a placing from three first-up attempts. In a wide-open affair Up ‘N’ Rolling looms as a true winning threat.

Race 9 tip: Up ‘N’ Rolling to win ($3.30 at William Hill)
