Royal Randwick Horse Betting Tips
Godolphin’s Hilo looks ready to win here after just missing to Fituese and Athiri in his first two runs. He’ll be rock hard fit third up and he stays at 1200m which should suit. Rachel King looks in for a good day, partnering plenty of fancied runner from the Cummings yard and Hilo looks no different. The inside alley allows her to get the horse in a good spot behind the speed and should see them too good late.

It’ll be a long wait for our best bets in the last two races, but hopefully it’ll pay off when consistent mare, Icebath heads onto the track. She hasn’t been all that far away in four runs this time in, with 2.1L her biggest losing margin last start when 5th in the Silver Eagle. She faces a large drop in class back to BM78 and only rises 0.5kg after Tom Sherry’s 3kg claim which will be extremely advantageous. Barrier 4 will see them get into a nice spot in the first half of the field behind what looks to be an even tempo. She looks ready for the mile now.

Another from the Godolphin stable is classy galloper, Ranier. Coming off a third to Wild Planet and Funstar, he looks ready to go second up here up to 1400m after a quiet trial between runs. He will have to be at his best under 62kg and giving his talented, even-money stablemate Criaderas 10kg, but we trust that class from both horse and rider Jason Collett can get him home. The outside alley may actually be favourable here to sit outside Criaderas and keep him in a pocket at the business end. At around $9, we would rather back Ranier each way than take even money about the favourite.
