Queanbeyan abandoned after excessive rainfall

AFTER sustaining a battering of rain overnight Racing NSW has decided to call off today’s meet at Queanbeyan.
Stewards conducted an inspection of the track at 9.30am and decided the track was unfit for racing with surface water present at the 200m mark.

Racing NSW announced just after 9am that the race day would be postponed due to the water on the track but after no improvement and a further forecast of rain in the area that the meet would be unable to go ahead.

Queanbeyan is unlikely to be the last meeting today called off.
Coffs Harbour and Victorian track Warrnambool will both undergo inspections later this morning to see if it is safe to conduct their meetings.
